IRL Meetup: MIT AI Venture Studio - Demo Day | Post-Event Social
Celebrating AI-first innovation, hands-on venture building, and community connection at the MIT Media Lab
On Thursday, May 8, 2025, MIT’s AI Venture Studio (AI for Impact: Solving Societal-Scale Problems —MAS.664 / MAS.665 / 15.376 / EC.731 / IDS.865) will be hosting its Demo Day.
Hosted by MIT’s Connection Science group and supported by CSAIL, LIDS, and the Media Lab & Camera Culture group, this long-running course has helped birth ventures like Dimagi, Ginger, and Sanergy. This semester, student teams tackled everything from AI for sustainability to decentralized identity.
After Demo Day wraps up, the From Here to There team will be hosting an informal gathering to toast the students’ work, trade notes with mentors and founders, and keep the spirit of experimentation going. If you're attending, swing by to say hello!

Why we’re attending
JOPRO Director Jesse Parent will be serving as a Judge for the Demo Day, and be in the area for networking and discussions during the afternoon.
This event aligns closely with our work at JOPRO and the 'From Here To There: Strategy & Mentorship for Innovators' project. It’s a vivid example of what momentum, iteration, and well-scaffolded leadership can bring to life. We’ll be sharing more insights and behind-the-scenes moments from the day soon.
